You must first asses the security needs of your building. It includes the size of your floor and lot areas and that of the levels your building have, as well. The value of the people and the things housed in the building must also be considered to determine whether the site is high or low risk against intruders and criminals.
When the security needs of the building have been determined, layout the plan of the security system that will be installed. This will include the locations or positions of the alarms, CCTVs, control area, and vaults, if applicable, among others. The location of the security personnel should be included to determine the number of workforce you need to employ.
Choose the best security system that will complement your needs. The most expensive ones do not automatically mean that it is the best for your building. The important thing is that it includes your basic requirements and may include additional features that will be advantageous to you. For example, some buildings may require every inch of the building to be seen on CCTVs while others need only the entrances and exits to be covered by security cameras.
Security personnel are also critical in managing the security of your building. Security systems must be complemented with good personnel. The number of personnel and the level of their training must be proportion to your needs. Some sites may require basic security training while others necessitate high level and professional training.
